For surgeons the value of Intelliscopes is clear. Intelliview allows surgeons to focus on performing the procedures that will achieve the best possible outcomes for their patient. Surgeons don’t have to spend time and effort managing visualization, but can “stay in the flow”. By getting through cases more efficiently, they can have shorter procedure times allowing them to add an additional case, or just get home sooner.


For 'gravity' surgeons, Intelliscopes with a pump can replace a technician focused on manually raising a saline bag and pinching tubes to try to control the image.

Today a surgeons must stop their work to manually adjust the flow and pressure targets on the pump to keep the image clear during a procedure.

This interrupts the procedure and can lead to greater fluid usage (and extravasation), longer case times, and distraction from the main goal: to perform the procedure(s) that helps improve the outcome(s) of the patient.

With Intelliview the image is categorized in real time by state (such as cloudy, bloody, good) and target guidance for flow and pressure is automatically shared with the pump to keep the image clear using artificial intelligence. The pump adjusts its parameters just as if a surgeon was controlling the pump manually.

The surgeon can override or stop the visualization automation at any time using the same input devices they use today.

KEY FEATURES OF INTELLIVIEW

Using a mini PC, Intelliscopes sits on top of existing towers and categorizes images in real time and provides target guidance to the pump to maintain or obtain a clear image. Pending FDA approval.

On/Off Visual Cues: When active, a blue ring is added around the scope image to let the surgeon know that Intelliview is working.

Real-time Image Categorization: Images received from the scope camera are categorized into Air, Bloody, Cloudy, Focus, Good and Out states.

Messaging Center: Messages are provided to the surgeon to communicate visualization efforts.

Pump Targets: Pump targets for flow and pressure are displayed on the monitor to help a surgeon see the status.

Manual Control Overrides: When a surgeon overrides Intelliview, the learning is captured for training purposes to improve the system and queued up for future release with FDA approval.
